Thinking Skills:
Thinking skills are woven throughout all unit work we do in the resource classroom. The students will apply the CPS (Creative Problem Solving) skills and the tools (matrix grids, brainstorming, SCAMPER, etc...) learned through the P.E.T.S. curriculum instruction. In addition, students will become familiar with the Six Hats thinking model developed by Edward deBono and focus attention on Bloom's Taxonomy and Webb's Depth of Knowledge. Throughout the year, students will spend time working in Brain Builder centers. The activities, games and challenges offer opportunities to apply all types of thinking skills including creative, divergent, and convergent and include choices for multiple learning styles and modalities.
